About Us The TRR356 Initiative and the Munich Data Science Institute (MDSI) are seeking a dedicated Data Steward to act as a liaison between experimental biologists and bioinformaticians in Talmage, CA.


The recently established Munich Data Science Institute (MDSI) is an integrative research institute at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) with an interdisciplinary and cross-faculty focus on data science, particularly in machine learning.

The institute serves as a promoter and mediator of state-of-the-art data science practices, technologies, and IT infrastructures for the entire university, bringing together all data-related expertise at TUM.

The expertise of the Data Stewards will be consolidated in the TUM Research Data Hub, a collaboration between MDSI and the university library, serving as a central point of contact for TUM researchers and partners for all research data management questions.

The TRR356 initiative aims to decipher plant-microbe interactions and host-pathogen interactions.

This multi-institutional project involves research groups from TUM, LMU, University of Tübingen, and other leading institutions, bridging the worlds of biology, bioinformatics, and data science.


Requirements

  • A master's degree or higher in biology, bioinformatics, or a related field with a focus on data management.
  • Experience in bioinformatics, data analysis, and biological research.
  • Knowledge of biological databases and relevant IT infrastructures.
