    This position will serve as the technical lead engineer within the Mid-Atlantic Exelon Utilities. Maintains deep technical knowledge and broad understanding of utility telecommunications devices tie together to form a cohesive communications architecture including related networking technologies across Exelon.
    Promotes knowledge via seminars, presentations and publications within IT and Exelon

    Participates in technological innovation to drive new business opportunities and solve complex business problems.
    Supports Exelon policy, standards and governance while designing solutions or solving issues.
    Works under minimal supervision.

    This group support the FAN (Field Area Network) operations and will be focused mainly on Mid-Atlantic Utilities. Strong ITRON network and Distribution Automation Network. They will be supporting Operations across al of Exelon and ultimately be asked to support all 6 utilities remotely, and some light site visits at utility they sit closest to. A ton of the work will be supporting RRU's across their electrical distribution footprint and the substations they tie into.

    Needs to have strong cross department coordination and relationship building and work with the various local contacts at the utility level. Background in end to end communication and IP networking, Routing, Switching, etc.

    Very light local field work, mainly remote with ability to get into a local office. Team environment with a lot of cross department communication. There is an on call rotation as well..

    1. 5+ Years of technical experience within the wireless or cellular network industry
    2. Experience performing remote troubleshooting.
    3. Experience and Ability to perform internal and external communications to liaison and accomplish tasks.
    Need to understand Network Protocols


    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 5 to 8 years' experience in various network routing and switching communication technologies, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

    • Experience working in a substation environment including detailed understanding of specific requirements and standards for SCADA and system protection communications.

    • Working knowledge of IP networking and cyber security protocols

    • Thorough understanding of OSI layers 1, 2 and 3 with emphasis on layer 3 routing and addressing structure including BGP and ISIS routing protocols.

    • Experience in network management platforms and underlying protocols.

    • Understanding of ITIL processes for IT service management

    • Excellent business communication skills - Able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written and verbal).

    • Strong organizational, time management, and supervisory skills
    Preferred:

    • Technical certification in network technologies (CompTIA A+ / Network+, Cisco CCNA, etc.)

    • Wireless mesh and cellular network experience

    • Experience working with SCADA protocols (DNP3) and multi-tier communications

    • Experience working in an electric or gas utility environment
