HR Specialist


The Human Resources Specialist will assist the People and Culture Manager and Plant Leadership in providing human resources support to all hourly employees and first point of contact for salaried employees at three Websterville, VT locations.

This position provides support in managing human resource initiatives, employee relations, and labor relations at plant location.

This position is responsible for partnering with center of excellence recruiting team for hourly recruitment and on-boarding, selection and hiring, including self-assessments, background checks, and drug/alcohol testing processes.


The Human Resources Specialist will need to:

  • Use
    _good independent judgement_ to execute daily work requirements.
-
_ Deliver strategic human resource initiatives_ that support business objectives.

  • Effectively
    _collaborates with local, regional, and corporate HR teams_ to achieve plant objectives.
-
_ Execute production recruitment plan_ by managing selection process, including manage interview logistics, maintain compliant applicant records, conduct orientation and the new hire process, and conduct compliance training for new hires.

  • Develops and reviews diversity (AAP) plan with
    _focused recruitment strategies_.

_ Leads community activities_ that demonstrate and support our Affirmative Action goals.

  • Partners with HR Manager in
    _conducting investigations_ and makes corrective action recommendations.
  • Partners with plant leadership to
    _effectively manage performance_ of all employees.
  • Logs and
    _tracks performance_ and all other employee discipline for the plant.
  • Maintains employee personnel and all other
    _HR related files._
  • Ensure legal and
    _compliance information_ postings are met and union information as needed.
  • Manages or oversees
    _Attendance Program_.
  • Responsible for all local payroll processes.

_ Proactively recommend ideas and solutions_ to effectively address the needs of the organization.

  • Detect / Anticipate potential issues, determine
    _reasonable solutions to problems_ to drive improvement.
  • Assist in implementing, evaluating strategies and programs to
    _improve employee engagement and retention_.
  • Analyzes
    _training needs_; implements training delivery with plant management; facilitate various training activities; and ensures compliance with company and legally required training.
  • HR team partner to
    _ensure compliance_ with EEOC, FMLA, Code of Conduct, Discrimination, Harassment, and other legal/policy issues.

Experience -Education (required):


  • Undergraduate degree in human resources or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 2 years of experience in Human Resources Specialist or Generalist role.

Hours:

This is a three-shift manufacturing plant; the incumbent will need to be flexible to work off-shifts from time to time or switch shifts as needed for communication purposes.
