Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team.

A Materials Handler, colloquially known as a "Water Spider," is responsible for keeping workstations fully stocked with materials to ensure continuous productivity and on-time delivery.

This position requires excellent communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.


Duties:


  • Become knowledgeable about B-W products, features, and functionality, as well as the work cells in the plant that produce them.
  • Ensure justintime (JIT) practices are applied to maintain appropriate levels of materials and supplies.
  • Move raw materials into production areas for staging within the factory.
  • Issue and/or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies based on incoming requisitions.
  • Enter data into the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for quantities of parts issued and transferred, inventory, and cycle count adjustments.
  • Verify ERP item quantities through physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock locations based on turnover and physical capabilities.
  • Maintain orderly and accessible stockrooms or supply areas.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet company metrics and assist with inventory control at workcells.
  • Inspect stock items for wear, defects, or expiration and report findings to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with other functions to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support 5S activities within the facility to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Attend work and meetings consistently and punctually, ensuring work responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred
  • Ability to handle heavy lifting on a regular basis
  • Proficiency in order picking and building pallets
  • Familiarity with forklift operation and other heavy equipment is a plus

Education & Experience:
A bachelor's degree is preferred, with a minimum of four years in an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) environment.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Understand basic manufacturing processes and Inventory Control interactions.
  • Familiarity with industrystandard purchase order software platforms (e.g., MRP or ERP).
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
  • Understanding of inventory management methodologies (e.g., ABC inventory management).
  • Effective communication skills with staff, management, contractors, suppliers, and other representatives.
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Attention to detail in reviewing purchase orders, system reports, and supplier contracts.
  • Production and processing knowledge of raw materials and quality control.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) desired.

Physical Demands:
This role involves long periods of standing and walking, occasional stair climbing, and lifting up to 100 pounds. Reach and flexibility are also required.

The job operates in a manufacturing environment requiring safety gear and exposure to chemicals.

Pay:
$21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
