    FUJIFILM Recording Media is looking for a
    Customer Support & Manufacturing Quality Engineer with exceptionally
    strong computer and analytical skills to work in our Bedford, MA facility.

    This person will be given the opportunity to train in Japan with our top Engineers for a few weeks at a time in order to become a Subject Matter Expert in the industry
    The ideal candidate must have a minimum of
    5-8 years of QA experience working in a manufacturing environment. This is not an entry level role. Certifications such as LEAN, Six Sigma and CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) are highly desired but not required. Advanced data analysis experience using tools such as SQL and MATLAB a strong plus.

    Responsibilities include:
    Performs tests and evaluations on data storage products summarizing and analyzing test results using appropriate techniques. Works alongside personnel from other areas. Involved in training production and QA personnel and setting up test & inspection procedures for manufacturing personnel to follow. They must be able to work well independently with little supervision. This position requires work on situations of moderate scope where direct supervision is typically not available.


    Essential Functions:

    • Perform complex tests and inspections on tape and other data storage products as directed by QA Manager. Tests include running automated and manual test equipment and interpreting results.
    • Analysis of QA test data and presentation of results using a variety of graphical techniques. Utilization of quality data from databases using database queries.
    • Ensures that all systems and procedures are maintained to the requirements of the business and ISO9001 as a member of the Quality System audit team.
    • Work closely with production and QA technicians to provide training on test and analysis methods and interpretation of results.
    • Development of advanced test systems, test methods, data collection, and analysis systems. Including writing scripts and simple computer programs using networked computers interfaced to tape drives and library systems.
    • Defect analysis using visual inspection, optical microscope and specialized electrical test equipment.
    • Calibration of test equipment using defined calibration procedures.
    • Interfaces directly with customers at a highly technical level to resolve end user problems and provide data and analysis to answer questions from sophisticated OEM and Hyperscale customers.
    • Understands and can communicate at a technical level about reliability principles and advanced analytical results such as FTIR and SEM analysis .
    • Interfaces with raw material suppliers to assure the quality of product components. Works with suppliers quality personnel and Supply Chain to address specific component quality problems and improvements.

    Position will spend extended periods of time (2+ months) visiting our facility in Japan for training and working with the QA and Engineering teams at the R&D and manufacturing facility.

    • Understand, maintain and perform work according to quality, health, safety and environmental standards.

    Education and Experience:
    *
    Bachelor degree required; in an Engineering discipline Electrical or Computer Science preferred

    • Experience working with ISO9001
    • Minimum of 5-8 years of QA experience working in a manufacturing environment.
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
    • High level of computer competency, connecting computers to peripheral hardware to collect and analyze data.
    • Experience in the application of statistical analysis of data for manufacturing control and product performance reliability

    Highly desired not required:

    • SQL experience is a plus
    • QA certifications
    • Certifications and or licenses such as LEAN, Six Sigma
    • CQE (Certified Quality Engineer)
    • Internal Auditing Experience
