Overview:

Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for an Oncology Nurse Manager to support our offices in Hampton, Newport News, and Williamsburg. This position will require the ability to travel to multiple practice locations.

Responsibilities:


  • Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing and clinical support activities
  • Maintains effective nursing staff coverage for assigned offices within budgetary constraints
  • Hires and coordinates training for all nursing personnel
  • Directs the correct use of charge codes and educates all staff in correct procedures per reimbursement guidelines
  • Coordinates the completion of performance evaluations for all nursing staff
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws, schedules and coordinates employee overtime and time off
  • Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction
  • Facilitates QA process in nursing
  • Provides staff training/inservices as required
  • Controls nursing departmental operating costs within budget parameters
  • Ensures all licensing and certification criteria for nurses are met
  • Performs tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary
  • Coordinates and implements internal development programs for nursing staff to enhance staff retention

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years actively practicing as an RN with three years oncology experience
  • One year managerial experience preferred
  • RN state license and current registration with the Virginia Board of Nursing required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • OCN credential preferred
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required (MSN preferred) from an accredited program for professional nursing education
