Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team.

As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining patient records.

This is a vital role in our medical office, as you will play a key part in the financial success of our practice.


Responsibilities:


  • Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information
  • Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD10 and ICD9 coding systems
  • Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resubmit claims as necessary
  • Coordinate with medical office staff to ensure accurate documentation and billing
  • Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies or issues
  • Process payments from insurance companies and patients, and post them to patient accounts
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Stay updated on changes in medical billing and coding regulations

Skills:


  • Proficient in medical billing software systems
  • Strong knowledge of ICD10, ICD9, DRG coding systems
  • Familiarity with medical collection processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and medical staff
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
