Description

Safety Officer at Evansville State Hospital

Patrols hospital building and grounds to deter crime and identify security/safety issues
Communicates security/safety/building maintenance issues to appropriate management
Responds to and handles potentially illegal activities or emergencies
Maintains hospital security during disasters or disruptions
Monitors access to the hospital building
Transports patients and staff off grounds as required
Assists with searches on the premises
Partners with law enforcement or emergency response agencies as needed
Performs daily runs for banking and postal needs
Keeps informed about hospital security policies and industry practices
Valid driver's license required

Requirements:

Experience in security, firefighing or policing, or high school diploma/GED
CPR and CPI certification required
Extensive knowledge of hospital property and security/safety policies
Ability to communicate effectively and respond to security/safety issues appropriately
Follow oral/written instructions and guidelines
Work any shift
