Executive Assistant for the Morse Institute Library


Under the supervision of the Library Director, the Executive Assistant provides highly confidential administrative support services to the Library Director and Assistant Library Director.

They prepare a variety of correspondence, maintain personnel files, and respond to/direct general inquiries from the public, library staff, and others.

The EEA communicates with library staff, the general public, and others regarding events, press releases, newsletters, closures, and other relevant information.

The Executive Assistant for the library also manages Library calendar reservations for library staff, Town staff, and outside organizations.

They assist in the onboarding of new employees, maintain supply lists, take meeting minutes, and provide logístical support for library programs as needed.

They engage with the community, supporting outreach efforts throughout the library.


The position also includes supporting the work of the Library Board of Trustees under the direction of the Library Director, including publishing official notices as required by state law.

The Executive Assistant should have a bachelor's degree, have successfully completed two years of business school or a college with an office management curriculum, and have a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.

A minimum of three years in an office setting with progressively responsible administrative work is required. In exceptional circumstances, specialized education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for part of the educational requirements.

This is a full-time, benefitted position at 37.5 hours per week, with compensation starting between $55,000-$62,000 based on experience.
