Job Summary:


As a Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing team within a healthcare facility, ensuring efficient daily operations and excellent patient care.

Your role will involve providing leadership, guidance, and support to the nursing staff, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the nursing team, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to the nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, maintaining high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Evaluate and assess patient needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and monitor treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, including nursing assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to care planning, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development.
  • Monitor and manage patient flow, bed assignment, and staffing levels to maximize efficiency and meet patient care demands.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, families, and other healthcare departments, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide support and assistance during emergencies, crises, or complex patient situations as needed.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and professional conduct, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  • Stay updated with advancements in nursing practices, technologies, and evidence-based research, implementing best practices as appropriate.
  • Contribute to ongoing performance evaluations of nursing staff, addressing areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining nursing supplies and equipment.
  • Mentor and support new nursing staff, assisting with orientation and onboarding processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid RN license issued by the state regulatory board.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
  • Proven experience as a Registered Nurse in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in various aspects of nursing care.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • Solid understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and other healthcare software.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Compassion, empathy, and sensitivity to the needs of patients and their families.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity in all nursing practices.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, if required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
