START YOUR CAREER NOW.The Tax Manager is a key member of the DNOW tax team: responsible for the Company's U.S. federal and state income tax positions throughout the tax life cycle - projects, planning, provision, and compliance.
The Tax Manager will apply technical tax expertise, accounting experience, people skills, and project management abilities to accomplish the Company's strategic tax goals that directly affect shareholder value.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review of quarterly and annual domestic tax provision calculations under ASC 740
Consolidation and reporting of global tax provision calculations and review of financial statement disclosures
Review of the Company's consolidated U.S. income tax return and state & local income tax filings
Review of estimated tax payments
Research and documentation of the Company's tax positions
Responses to ad hoc income tax requests
Documentation of internal controls throughout the year
Identification and implementation of process improvements and technological expedients
Assist with U.S. international and non-U.S. tax filings and tax provisions
Assistance with special projects as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
CPA or advanced degree
6+ years of U.S. domestic corporate income tax experience gained through working in a corporate tax department or accounting firm
Knowledge and experience with accounting for income taxes under ASC 740
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Works well with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Highly self-motivated; organized; takes initiative; identifies and addresses issues; detail-oriented
Strong technology skills including Excel, SAP, OneSource Income Tax & OneSource Tax Provision, and an ability to learn and apply technology
Interest in automation and using tools including Alteryx and RPA to further improve existing workstreams and processes
