Duties:


As a/an
Supervisory Systems Accountant, you will:


  • Oversee business process improvements and automation initiatives, software implementation, obtains user acceptance, provides system training, provides technical assistance to users, and maintain day-to-day system operations.
  • Develop and maintain financial systems documentation, training materials, and provide training.

Washington, District of Columbia. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.


Key Requirements:

  • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications:


  • You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience:For the
GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the
GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.


Specialized Experience for this position includes:

-**:


  • Supervisory oversight of the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated accounting systems; AND**
    Leading largescale accounting information system projects from conception through implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and financial regulations; AND:

  • Managing accounting information system contracts (of over $100 million) through all phases, including negotiation, execution, and evaluation of contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements; AND:

  • Leading the integration of Financial Accounting Systems, such as Oracle PeopleSoft (preferred), into business processes to enhance operational efficiency and data reliability in financial operations; AND:

Leading a large staff, comprised of both employees and contractors, who are responsible for the continuous improvement of financial operations, including the development of policies and procedural instructions for accounting systems.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or
volunteer service
. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Degree:

accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.

The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.")

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.

The applicant's background must also include one of the following
:


1. Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law;

2. A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or
**3. Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional account
