Expawers is a boutique dog hiking and dog boarding company based in New York City. We specialize in a guided off
- leash dog hiking and dog training. Our hikes take place in beautiful upstate locations all within 1 hour drive from NYC.

We are currently looking for 1 individual to join our team as full-time Dog Hiker. This is a dream job for someone who loves dogs and enjoys the great outdoors all year round.

You will get the chance to work with a set of well trained dogs that you will further mentor, bond and grow with.

This is not a gig but an opportunity for a long term full-time career working with a successful and growing dog company.

Requirements:

• Must LOVE dogs
• Must have minimum 1 2 years experience working with dogs
• Dog training background a plus
• Must be able to handle multiple strong, active off

- leash dogs and endure up to 3 hours of continuous hiking

• Must possess basic knowledge of dog behavior, fight prevention and be able to carry out basic training commands with calm demeanor and authority
• Comfortable using tools such as prong collar or an ecollar
• Comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes
• Demonstrate the ability to manage dogs successfully including learning their body language and managing different dog personalities effectively and humanely
• Comfortable to hike in all seasons and weather conditions
• We are looking for a professional, athletic, punctual, trustworthy and reliable individual
• Multitasking, being observant, attention to detail and ability to make decisions in a fastpaced work environment is a must
• We are looking for someone who is openminded, positive, selfmotivated, and who is comfortable interacting with people and dogs
• Professional and friendly manner with proven ability to communicate effectively with owner, clients and other team members
• Applicants must live in NYC
• Must be able to drive company's vehicle and have a clean driver's license record
• Own a functional smart phone to be able to record videos and take pictures during a hike
• Ability to pass a drug and background test
• Be authorized to work in the US
• High School diploma or equivalent

Pay:
$48, $50,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
