Job Summary


Position is responsible for supervising day-to-day operations including pre-registrations/verifications, registrations, reservations, financial counseling, and/or collection of third party and private receivables.


Desired Skill Sets/Experience:


  • Hospital or Surgery Center scheduling experience preferred
  • Manager or leader in an OR (Operating Room) highly preferred
  • Will consider an OR nurse or Clinical Manager in Scheduling
  • Must have strong problem solving skills and exceptional customer service skills
  • Able to build strong relationships
  • Great problem solving skills

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Associates degree or commensurate experience; Bachelors degree preferred


Licenses/Certifications:
(None)


Experience / Knowledge / Skills:


  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in a hospital/ healthcare environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Principal Accountabilities

  • Meets with the Access Managers / Coordinators on a monthly basis to implement new processes, conduct inservices and provide leadership mentoring.
  • Establishes policies and develops processes to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service, the adherence to regulatory standards, and the achievement of business objectives
  • Ensures training programs are implemented in a timely manner to support the goals and business objectives of MHHS.
  • Monitors processes at each facility through periodic site visits, quality assurance reviews, etc.
  • Assists with planning and developing business objectives, departmental goals, and special projects.
  • Assigns work and supervises the activities of department personnel. Trains, monitors, and evaluates internal staff as necessary.
  • Monitors quality improvement efforts and makes recommendations for change as necessary.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports departmentbased goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
