- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential duties satisfactorily.
- Performs nursing plan procedures as directed by physician including nursing services, treatments and preventative, and rehabilitative procedures.
- Observes clients, charting and reporting changes in client's condition such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment
- Administers prescribed medication, tube feed supplement formula and other fluids, inserts catheters and empty fluid bags as required by the health care restrictive plans. Records times and amount on client's charts.
- Measures and record clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration as needed.
- Assembles and use equipment such as catheters and tracheotomy tubes.
- Educate staff on healthcare topics such as diabetes, blood-borne pathogens, lifting, etc.
- Writes restrictive health care plans for specific clients prior to their onboarding. Trains staff prior to the client's first day at the program.
- Audits healthcare plans and medication administration records bi-annually or as needed.
- Assures that proper infection control protocol is followed when using feeding tubes, syringes or catheters or any other medical equipment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Graduate from an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program.
- Current California license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Must possess valid California Driver's License, auto insurance and clean DMV records for any position where driving is required.
- Must have current Standard First Aid and CPR certificates within six months of hire.
- For all licensing programs, all employees must complete these requirements on the first day of hire:
Fingerprinting, CPR/First Aid certificate, TB test and a Physical. -

Licensed Vocational NursePOSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for basic care and feeding of individuals with developmental disabilities, Responsible for the documentation of progress toward their goals, as required by the program. Works closely with Case Manager & Program Manager to assist individuals in their personal care. Communicates directly with families, homes, CVRC, physicians, Program Manager regarding anything pertaining to individual's care, diagnosis or anything medically related.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our client is a leading nonprofit in Fresno/Madera Counties that offer individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability the opportunity to succeed in a supportive environment. They offer services and training to acquire the skills needed to fully become an integral part of their community. They serve over 600+ individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities with a professional staff of 160+ in 6 program sites.
