Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Welfare Case Planner to Join our team ASAP.Case Planners are instrumental in making sure that the casework practice and service delivery are aligned with the agency's performance expectations.
In addition you will advocate for the rights and best interests of children involved in child welfare cases. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, crisis management abilities, and a passion for helping children and families. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of best practices in the field of serving families and children involved with the child welfare systemResponsibilities
- Participate in family team meetings and utilize skills that demonstrates an ability to understand, assess and engage families, children, and foster parents
- Conduct assessments to determine the safety and needs of children and families
- Reach out to birth families, foster families and children to identify good/bad times to hold group sessions
- Timely documentation of all progress notes
- Conduct community and home visits to monitor the wellbeing of children and assess the suitability of living environments
- Collaborate with social workers, therapists, and law enforcement personnel to ensure comprehensive care for children and provide outside resources that align with treatment plan
- Prepare for and attend court hearings provide testimony as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Does NOT need to be in Human Service/Social Work
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including periodic evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel to community settings throughout NYC
- NYS Driver's license preferred
Pay:
$52, $55,000.00 per year
