    Description

    Summary


    We are looking for an enthusiastic level 1 engineer to help measure quality levels and drive improvement on Penguin Computing products and processes.

    Person will interface with manufacturing, warehouse, MRB, test engineering, suppliers, supply chain and others.


    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, with assistance, and maintain consistent manufacturing product quality reporting to highlight top areas for improvement.

    • Participates in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and takes an active role in the dispositioning of discrepant material and/or assemblies.
    • Champion continuous improvement activities related to servers, switches, frames, enclosures, cabling and racks.
    • Issue internal and supplier corrective actions and drive improvements to closure
    • Create documentation to support new and improved manufacturing processes.
    • Create BOMs, part numbers, etc. as required.
    • Write and perform process validations.
    • Assist in manufacturing development projects such as fixture and equipment design.
    • Issue and help drive corrective actions to eliminate quality discrepancies as soon as they are detected.
    • Review change orders and help identify how to prevent the need for similar change orders in the future.
    • Work closely with R&D and Manufacturing to capture and interpret design intent to refine and improve work instructions.
    • Assist in documenting product standards.
    • Interface directly with assemblers, production supervisors, leads, engineers, and management on a routine basis.
    • Collaborate with small teams on in-house development of novel and complex automation equipment.
    • Participates in the Change Control Board (CCB) review of engineering change orders to ensure proposed design changes are producible and within manufacturing capabilities.
    • Conducts any special manufacturing projects, evaluations or surveys as directed by management.
    Qualifications


    • BS. degree or higher preferred in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or other related engineering discipline.
    • Some work experience preferred.
    • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
    • Successful candidate must be a US Citizen.

    Compensation/Benefits:


    The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in California is $64,680-$80,850 the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

    The position is bonus eligible and there is a range of medical, dental, and vision benefits available, as well as a 401k saving plan and other benefits and plans, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
