    The Veterinary Teaching Hospital in the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants to fill three non-tenured Professor of Practice faculty positions as Small Animal Emergency Veterinarians.

    The Teaching Hospital is increasing staffing to maintain the best possible care for a vibrant and growing emergency caseload.

    The successful candidates will focus on care of clinical cases in the Emergency Service and participate in the educational mission of the College of Veterinary Medicine by providing focused clinical instruction to senior veterinary students, interns, and residents.

    There is an opportunity for a full-time or part-time appointment depending on candidate interest.

    The successful candidate will have demonstrated an interest in emergency medicine and surgery and in advanced patient care. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of veterinary students, interns, and residents. Primary clinical responsibilities will include receiving and medically managing small animal emergency cases.

    The successful candidate will also assist with management of the workflow of diagnostics and treatments of hospitalized animals by other specialty services in the Intermediate Medical Care (IMC) ward.

    The faculty assignment could include daytime, swing, or weekend work.

    Members of the veterinary faculty must contribute to a team environment, engage productively with referring veterinarians, and collaborate with colleagues.

    Faculty members are expected to provide exceptional patient care while simultaneously providing clinical instruction for veterinary students and house officers.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Qualified applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree at the time employment begins.

    The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to team-based, high quality, compassionate medicine, and a good learning environment for student trainees.


    The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.

    Desired Qualifications
    Experience in emergency practice or completion of a small animal internship are desired. An interest in emergency and critical care is desired
