    Job Description

    Position: Senior Government Relations Director - Pharmacy/PBM

    Location: This role operates in a hybrid model (virtual and office). The ideal candidate should reside within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint sites.

    The Senior Government Relations Director will lead advocacy efforts with state and local government bodies regarding the interests of CarelonRx and related plan businesses. This includes developing and executing strategies to effectively engage with government officials, policymakers, and regulatory agencies at local and State levels in alignment with public policy, along with supporting the Federal advocacy team as required.

    How You Will Make a Difference:

    • Create a comprehensive government relations strategy aligned with CarelonRx's overall business objectives.
    • Engage in lobbying to advance the interests of CarelonRx and its clients.
    • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory proposals, evaluate their potential impact on the PBM industry, and provide recommendations to senior management.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of public affairs and communication strategies to effectively convey the company's positions to government stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with other divisions of Public Affairs to achieve organizational goals.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BS in Pharmacy or PharmD and a minimum of ten years of legislative, regulatory, political, public affairs, or industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Travel up to 75%.
    • Pharmacy and/or PBM background.
