    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Provides on-site supervision to juveniles participating in court ordered community service/restitution program. Monitors and reports youth's participation in programming. Provides instruction, direction, and mentorship to youth involved in work details and other court-based services. Monitors probation and diversion youth assigned to court related services. Maintains detailed records related to court orders and other court services. Transports youth to and from community service sites. Administrative assistant to the chief probation officer tracking youth through the probation department, assists in completing grant supports and reports.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of an Associate's Degree with specialization in criminal justice or social service field or relevant experience. Must be able to operate identified equipment, and have a valid Ohio driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurance. Must pass criminal and traffic background check and alcohol and drug screen. Must possess critical skills and expertise. Position involves varied and non-varied tasks, and requires a minimal degree of discretionary decision-making. Must exercise judgment. Must be able to maintain flexible schedule to meet program demands. Must be able to work in adverse conditions such as weather. Must be able to work with troubled youth and demonstrate ability to perform essential job function.




    DUTIES:
    Works under direction with a range of procedures and plans. Supervisor provides technical instruction regarding procedures. Supervisor reviews work periodically. Reports are submitted to a higher authority for review. Work with confidential client records. Errors in work are not readily detectable. Works with and supervises youth at various work sites, prepares records or documents associated with program, meets regularly and communicates with youth and their families while enrolled in program, acts as mentor and role model to youth in program, monitors progress of youth placed in program, maintains working knowledge of agency resources, works with agencies and schools, instructs and teaches youth good work habits, transports youth to and from work sites, communicates with community service work site agency coordinators, testifies in court as needed, assists department with clerical tasks as needed, meets all job safety requirements and standards that pertain to essential functions, administers drug screens.

    Demonstrates regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.

    HOURS4 day or 5 day work week available. Hours vary depending on season.
