    Work hours:
    Full Time - 40 Hours; Day Shift 9:00 am- 5:30pm - Will need to be available for rotating weekend callDepartment highlights:Very diverse, Fast -paced, high- volume


    Here's What You Need:
    H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required1 Year sterile processing hospital experience requiredCensitrac, Belimed and Steris experience helpfulCSPDT
    • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician Upon Hire Req OrCBSPD
    • Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution Upon Hire Req OrCRCST
    • Certified Registered Central Service Technician Upon Hire Req What You Will Do:Performs Sterile ProcessingCollect, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize and disperse instrument trays, instruments and suppliesRun appropriate tests and complete required documentation on all sterilizers and flash machines dailyProduce accurate, complete and clean instrument trays.
    Other duties as assigned.
    Interdisciplinary Collaboration and TeamworkLeads and models interdisciplinary collaboration, including physicians and external customers.
    Promotes and mentors effective first party communication among staff, physicians, internal and external customersChampions and assists Dept. leadership in holding staff accountable for implementation of HRO/High Reliability Tools.
    Assists with coordination of staffing and staff assignments.
    Schedules meetings, coordinates agendas and takes minutes at departmental business meetings.

    Staff developmentFacilitates staff development in the area of process improvementMentors and supports staff in integrating evidence based practice/research findings into policy & practice guidelinesFormal and informal teaching and evaluation to strengthen core competencies of team members and self.

    Communicates opportunities for staff development to leadership.

    Process Improvement within Sterile Processing UnitTake action to improve processes to reduce ineffectiveness and costPartner with sterile processing leadership to achieve key performance indicatorsAssumes responsibility and participates in projectsAssists with Sterile Processing staff meetings as neededChampions actions to reduce/eliminate patient risks.

    Ensures compliance with sterile processing standards (AAMI).Entity HighlightsTexas Health Allen has served the local community and surrounding areas of Collin County since 2000.
