About MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Neuro Intermediate Care and Stroke Unit
The Neuro Intermediate Stroke Unit is looking for full time and PRN RNs Join our Joint Commission certified comprehensive stroke center
S32 is a 28-bed collaborative Intermediate Care Unit certified by The Joint Commission as a comprehensive stroke center, setting the hospital's treatment of stroke patients among the best in the nation. MedStar Georgetown is now one of only 156 healthcare organizations in the United States to have earned this certification in highly-specialized stroke care.
S32 part of our nationally renowned Neurosciences Center of Excellence. The patient population served on this unit is primarily Ischemic Stroke Patients, Post-acute Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients, EMU (Continuous EEG Monitoring) patients and other Neurosurgery and Neurology patients requiring telemetry monitoring.
In December 2020, the unit was recognized with the Gold Level Beacon Award by the AACN

Position Summary
Professional care provider who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge. In collaboration with the patient and family, provides theory-based professional nursing care and coordinates care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Associates degree from an accredited School of nursing required. BSN enrollment required within 6 months of start date and completion within 3 years.
Experience: 1 year of RN experience required.
License/Certifications: DC Registered Nurse License required; CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic math skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills required.
