Duties:


  • You will assist in the formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs and activities; review and evaluate budget request, control and report of obligations and expenditures.
  • You will perform studies or assist others with full scale studies.
  • You will provide information about and interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial administrative procedures, practices and regulations.
  • You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepares summaries for use by managers.
  • You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connecting with accounting systems, analytical, forecasting and interpretive functions associated with the management and control of resources or funds.
  • You will perform a variety of fiscal, accounting or financial management duties and responsibilities.

  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction

Qualifications:


  • For GS09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in formulation of budget and estimates; 2) Performing financial studies; 3) Researching guides to locate accounting and financial information.

  • For GS07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in formulation of budget and estimates; 2) Performing financial studies; 3) Researching guides to locate accounting and financial information.

  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education:

Applicants that do not meet the specialized experience as described above may qualify with the following education:

GS-09:Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree. OR
Obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled. OR
Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
