GENERAL INFORMATION


The Director of Career Services develops programs that support the mission of the institution and enhances the goals of the Center for Ultrasound Research and Education (CURE).

Duties include strategic planning and leadership for development, implementing, and evaluating recruiting systems, programs, and events to connect employers with students and alumni.

Market students/alumni and school program(s) to the appropriate communities of interest out in the field. Act as liaison between potential employers and students/alumni. Conduct resume and interviewing workshops for all students. Maintain student files with proper paperwork and documentation to meet accreditation standards with hard copies and in computer system. Responsible for tracking and reporting placement statistics weekly, monthly and on annual reports. Manage alumni relation programs for the school to encourage alumni to continue their involvement with the school. Maintaining 80% or greater benchmark throughout the year. Must be motivated by a desire to help people be successful and achieve their goals.


POSITION DESCRIPTION & DETAILS

  • Develop clear and measurable departmental student success goals that include targets for students' employment and earnings outcomes.
  • Provides career services programming including, but not limited to career counseling for current students and alumni, oncampus recruitment, employer outreach and engagement, and professional development services.
  • Responsible for all aspects of CURE's career services offerings including individual student meetings, sourcing student employment opportunities, managing oncampus recruiting, resume, and cover letter reviews, mock interviews, connecting students with mentors and other contacts, developing materials to guide student job search processes, developing networking events, and representing CURE to the community.
  • Analyzes students' career paths, initiates career assessments, and inventories, and provides advice.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact between CURE and the external stakeholders who provide students and alumni with employment.
  • Fosters a culture of crosscampus collaboration, emphasizing the responsibility all faculty, staff, and alumni have in supporting students in their efforts to seek career opportunities and become careerready.
  • Researches, collects data, and prepares appropriate reports and records as needed for advising, counseling, and career services.
  • Responsible for preparing survey instruments and overseeing the collection, tracking, and maintenance of all statistical information on employment for use in strategic planning and to fulfill internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for developing, managing, implementing, and evaluating an annual Career Services Strategy and associated tactics in support of CURE's mission, vision, and priorities.
  • Establishes performance metrics, monitors results.
  • Build relationships with industries and employers who recruit, interview, and hire students to measurably increase employment opportunities for students, recent graduates, and alumni.
  • Creates and maintains a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment, leading through example, and providing staff development and mentorship.
  • Serves as a member of the CURE's Management Team and other state, campus, and professional committees and organizations as needed.
  • Promotes innovation, creativity, and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department and for the school while focusing on innovation at a flat level and fostering a culture of no fear for innovative practices whether implemented or not.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist students with career education and professional development appropriate to their needs and goals including resume writing and job search strategies including instruction on how to develop and maintain a professional social media/LinkedIn profile.
  • Provide full support to students so that they can reach their career goal including mentoring opportunities, obtain internships, job placement and support for promotional opportunities with current employers.
  • Design and deliver focused workshops and seminars to enhance student professional skills.
  • Guide students through mock interviews while providing constructive feedback.
