    Description

    Are you passionate about Linux systems and eager to work on exciting projects in the heart of Chicago? We are seeking a talented Linux Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology solutions and collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure solutions to meet the organization's needs.
    • Manage and troubleshoot Linux servers, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
    • Implement security measures and best practices to protect Linux systems from potential threats.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development, testing, and deployment processes.
    • Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages such as Python.
    • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, implementing improvements as needed.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • Extensive experience working with Linux-based operating systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu).
    • Proficiency in Python scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
    • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
