As a Production Manager you are responsible for building and maintaining vendor relationships, cost negotiations and delivering a quality product in a timely, consistent, and responsible manner.
Additionally, you will lead efforts in training and developing new factories as well as maintaining consistent performance at existing factories to ensure responsible purchasing procedures are executed to meet the Company's social, environmental, and quality standards.
Your role is critical to the success of Patagonia's mission statement, by implementing sourcing and production solutions that help us Save Our Home Planet.
What You'll DoActively manage supplier relationships to ensure all suppliers meet capacity/delivery/margin requirements, social/environmental compliance, and quality assurance standards, in addition to continually reducing their environmental footprint.
Maintain open and frequent communication with cross-functional team members including Merchandising, Design, Material and Product Development, Material Production, Supply Planning, Quality, Logistics, Social & Environmental on all issues relating to quality, delivery, MOQ, social compliance, and environmental objectives while ensuring departmental calendar milestones are achieved and executed on-time.
Work with Supply Planning and suppliers to develop and manage production/ monthly buys schedules to support seasonal capacity plans, timely raw material deliveries, reduce lead-times and minimize surcharges and excess materials.
In collaboration with the Sourcing Director, assist in establishing targets and negotiating final prices to achieve the Company's goals for gross margin and profitability.
Manage all factory negotiations in a way that builds partnerships while resulting in the fairest possible prices. Ensure all final prices are updated in systems and accurately reflected on factory purchase orders.Responsible for day-to-day communication with Patagonia's factories, ensuring the accuracy of factory Work-In-Process (WIP) reports, maintaining the Company's systems (PLM, D365, Infor Nexus) and communication of WIP status within our corporate community.
Responsible for on-time deliveries of sales and photo samples.Build and maintain seasonal factory surcharge & liability reports. Execute timely supplier surcharge payments.
Lead, support and collaborate on department/company goals and initiatives.
Travel required to visit suppliers.

Experience You Bring
Minimum 3 years of experience in apparel company with global suppliers.
Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, ERP and PLM systems.
Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on all areas of responsibility.
Demonstrates customer service and communication skills.
The ability to write clearly and persuasively in addition to defining problems and articulating solutions within a group setting and via emails.
Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job.Participation, understanding and working knowledge of the Company's products.
B.A. / B.S. degree preferred
Compensation
Hiring Range:
$105,000 - $117,000
Pay Range:
$98, ,000
