Description
Perspective for Creatives

The duration of the apprenticeship as a goldsmith is 3 years and ends with the final exam to become a state-certified goldsmith.

The qualification is equivalent to the journeyman's certificate (§ 40 HWO) of the crafts.

In the first year of training, gold and silversmiths receive joint practical and theoretical lessons.

In this orientation year, you will be introduced to basic metalworking techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, forging, and casting through the example of self-designed pieces.

Based on your personal interests and development, you will decide towards the end of the first year which specialization you want to pursue.

The training as a goldsmith primarily includes the production of jewelry and smaller objects such as boxes and flasks.

Building on the basic skills learned, techniques such as setting, enameling, filigree, and welding will be taught in the second and third year through more complex pieces made of gold and silver.

In order to be admitted to the entrance test, we require the following application documents to be sent by post no later than June 18, 2024: cover letter, handwritten tabular CV, 3 passport photos, copy of the last school or final certificate, 4 x 0.
