    Elective Orthopedics - B3W

    Work Shift:

    Night (United States of America)

    B3W Elective Orthopedics:

    B3West is a 24-bed unit, private rooms in the post-surgical services. The primary population is elective orthopedic surgery & Total Joint surgery. The nursing staff cares for post-surgical patients as well as orthopedic trauma and general medical-surgical patients.

    The Clinical Nurse contributes to creating a compassionate environment for patients, families, and colleagues through acts of kindness and attentive listening. Recognizes the value of each employee's work in achieving the Mission's success.

    • Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and tests as required by policies and regulations.
    • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests for patient assessment.
    • Assesses patient needs and responses to care provided.
    • Applies nursing judgment in patient care management.
    • Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
    • Administers medications as ordered.
    • Collaborates with the nursing team to develop a Plan of Care.
    • Directs ancillary personnel and maintains nursing standards.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Graduate of a professional nursing program with a Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree.
    • Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
    • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) needed.
    • 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
    • Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving tools.
