We are a Trusts & Estates firm of six attorneys, located in Santa Monica and practicing exclusively in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Administration, and Conservatorships.

We are looking for an Associate Attorney with 1-3 years' experience who is passionate about establishing a career in this practice area.

Some experience in Trusts & Estates law is preferred but we are willing to train.

You will work closely with more senior attorneys on a variety of matters to develop a broad working knowledge of Trusts & Estates and continuing legal education in this practice area is highly encouraged.

You will receive training on drafting Estate Planning documents, like Trusts, Wills, and Powers of Attorney. You will also work as "second chair" on all aspects of Probates, Trust Administration, and Conservatorships.

As your knowledge grows, you will be expected to take on more responsibility and work more independently on some tasks.

You must:

Be admitted to the State Bar of California
Be a hard worker
Be committed to professional improvement
Maintain a friendly, warm demeanor with colleagues and clients
Live within a reasonable commute to Santa Monica
Be willing to work primarily inoffice

Your responsibilities will include:

Working closely with clients to explain legal concepts and provide counsel
Drafting Estate Planning documents
Making court appearances
Drafting pleadings
Preparing notices and communicating with beneficiaries and heirs
Preparing deeds and assessor forms
Staying organized and monitoring that status of your matters
Researching statutes, cases, and administrative rulings
