Job Overview:

The Shipping Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of shipping operations for the Loomstate Distribution Center, including operations for our most valued partners and third party customers.

This includes overseeing the processing, routing, tracking of shipments through carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, and third-party freight forwarders.

The role demands operational knowledge of shipping systems, ability to physically handle goods, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.

Principal Job Functions:


Shipping Operations Management:
Oversee the shipping of all orders efficiently and effectively, ensuring they meet customer specifications and deadlines.


Carrier Coordination:
Manage relationships and operations with UPS, FedEx, DHL, and third-party freight forwarders for shipping and tracking of orders.


Forklift Operation:

Be trained and licensed to operate a forklift for loading shipments and unloading deliveries into the staging area, processing, and stocking.

Delivery Inspection:
Inspect deliveries for accuracy and quality upon receipt.


Essential Job Duties:

• Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Utilize FedEx and UPS computer systems for generating shipping labels and managing shipments.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and DHL systems.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries, coordinating with drivers to ensure efficiency.
• Ensure timely and accurate shipping of all orders, adhering to Sales Picking Slip/Customer instructions.
• Manage deadlines for orders, choosing the appropriate shipping methods to meet delivery times.
• Track orders as necessary and maintain quality assurance for packaging.
• Prepare international shipments with all necessary documentation.
• Handle routing for all EDI customers and nonUPS/FedEx/DHL shipments, including thirdparty trucking and messenger services.
• Communicate with thirdparty customers regarding shipping pack and hold orders, and with freight forwarders for pickup scheduling.
• Generate and manage End Of Day Reports, communicating with customers regarding shipped orders.
• Assist in packing orders when necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School education or higher.

years related shipping/receiving experience required.

• Current forklift operation and safety certification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with shipping carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, DHL) and EDI.
• Ability to physically load and unload shipments.
• Knowledge of international shipping regulations and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure.
• Proficiency in computer systems, including shipping software and MS Office.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Pay:
$ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
