    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The purpose of the job is to provide routine daily nursing care to residents following standards and directives.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure privacy during nursing care
    • Supervise CNAs
    • Check vital signs
    • Dress wounds
    • Insert catheters
    • Listen to residents and families
    • Address questions/concerns of residents
    • Accurately chart resident progress notes
    • Report changes in resident's condition
    • Maintain equipment
    • Monitor residents at risk of falls
    • Collect lab samples
    • Abide by facility policies
    • Follow Infection and Control policies
    • Report occupational exposures
    • Attend training programs
    • Complete assigned tasks

    Education / Licensure

    • Completion of LVN training from accredited school or college required
    • Valid LVN license in good standing
    • Valid CPR and BLS card required
    • IV Certification is a plus

    Qualifications / Experience

    • 1 year of skilled nursing and supervision preferred
    • English language proficiency required
    • Ability to use computer or tablet for data entry

    Working Conditions

    • May encounter interruptions
    • Interact with residents, families, and agencies
    • Occasional overtime may be required
    • Subject to emergency call-backs
    • Exposure to various odors, substances, and infectious waste
    • Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals

    Physical Requirements

    • Intermittent movement throughout the day
    • Lifting up to 25 pounds, up to 100 pounds with assistance
    • Read fine print on tablets and medical labels

    *Per California state mandate, COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position.
