Main Purpose of Job:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Maryland Kids In Safety Seats (KISS) Program Coordinator with the planning, implementing and evaluating of in-person or virtual child passenger safety activities, and serve as a Statewide Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Resource.

These functions are directly related to the agency's mission to protect and promote health and prevent disease and injury.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.


Experience:

Two years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Experience with public health, education, communication background;
  • Current National Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification or ability to obtain National Certification within three months of hire date;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to travel statewide;
  • Ability to accommodate occasional evening/weekend work and work in various outdoor weather conditions;
  • Ability to lift/carry heavy objects; and,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
