    Job Description

    The Loan Processor is responsible for the verification and processing, final audit and funding of all indirect finance contracts. The Loan Processor is also responsible to make sure the credit union receives a complete and accurate loan package as well as debits the credit union and dealership for the correct amount. The Loan Processor will need to be in constant communication with the appropriate dealership until all issues on a contract are resolved in order to fund the loan. This will require excellent customer service and communication skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and PERCENT OF TIME SPENT:

    • Utilizes APPRO or Decision Lender system in order to process contracts to obtain necessary documents to complete loan packages for funding
    • Reviews loan packages to verify the application is complete and meets established policy, including type and amount of loan, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
    • Performs final audit prior to funding and will be responsible for all documentation and accuracy of the file prior to funding.
    • Provides backup support in key areas such as contract and application data entry, scanning, and various other administrative tasks when needed
    • Process and audits loan packages sent by dealers for funding
    • Verification of employment
    • Communicates with dealership staff in a friendly and professional way by phone, email, or fax
    • Keeps informed of all promotions and changes within the department.
    • Responsible for building and developing relationships with dealers
    • Recommends that loans not meeting policy be denied
    • Informs manager of discrepancies with contract documentation
    • Interacts with Credit Manager and lending staff to resolve discrepancies/issues and treats all staff as internal customers

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving several variables in applied applications
    • Must have attention to detail and juggle multiple tasks at once
    • Must be computer literate and proficient with the use of the internet, email, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Word.
    • Must have strong written and communication skills. Customer Service
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with all internal and external customers.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or general degree (GED); or six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and on-the-job experience.
