Central Investigations Analyst Responsibilities:


  • Investigate issues around organized criminal group activities, and other violent groups/harms, and how they impact Meta, our products and our communities, with a focus on understanding how bad actors may try to utilize our family of apps and services
  • Investigate complex cases and conduct deep analysis of potential threats that may manifest on Meta technologies
  • Independently manage multiple complex analytical efforts that contribute to functional strategy and influence leadership on key business decisions
  • Identify sources of abusive behavior, quickly and accurately assessing the credibility of potential threats in order to mitigate risk of harm
  • Work crossfunctionally with other analytic and investigative teams across the company, including collaborating with Policy, Engineering, and Integrity partners
- suggest and influence company-wide policy changes and contribute to changes in automated detection, specifically towards organized criminal groups and other severe harms

  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize relevant data to identify potential abuse
  • Work independently under highpressure situations and make sound decisions with little to no supervision
  • Work with graphic and sensitive content on a regular basis
  • Available for afterhours and weekend work

Minimum Qualifications:


  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional experience in investigations or analysis in law enforcement, security, risk, or safety domains
  • Experience working with sensitive issues that include graphic violence, a variety of religious and political views, and/or adult content
  • Experience and inclination to protect highly confidential information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 8+ years of professional experience in investigations or analysis in law enforcement, security, risk, or safety domains
  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Investigative or analytical experience related to organized crime and adjacent harms
  • Subject matter knowledge on organized crime and illicit drug trafficking, especially pertaining to various social media platforms, analytical tools, and online research tools
  • Analytical and investigative skills combined with the experience to quickly assess large amounts of data in order to detect critical and credible information
  • Knowledge of data tools such as SQL, Python, or other data analytics programming coding languages and data visualization tools
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience conducting open source investigations and/or investigations on behalf of a technology company
