We are a global manufacturing and distribution company with overy 40 years of experience designing, developing and distributing high quality and innovative home furnishings solutions for US, Canada and Latin American retail accounts.

Our customers include Burlington, Home Goods, Kohl's, Target, TJ Maxx/Marshall's and Walmart. Our product offering covers a variety of home categories ranging from Bath, Storage and Organization to Home Décor.

Assist Vice President and cross-functional team to drive the product development process by working with US-based retail customers and communicating with overseas sales, industrial engineering, production and design teams.

The role of the Production/Sourcing Manager is meant to manage the flow of communication, costing and sampling with overseas factories and agents with a focus on executing each step behind new product launches after commitment or business award.

Responsibilities

• Work with crossfunctional team to identify white space opportunities and target markets, as well as to ensure new product innovation are compatible with and capitalize on manufacturing capabilities and strengths
• Collaborate with crossfunctional team (sales, product development, design, replenishment) to manage all aspects of new product launch for various global retailers
• Manage daily communication with overseas factories and agents regarding design and development of new programs are aligned with aesthetic/preproduction prototypes
• Utilize Power Point or In Design as visual tools to communicate key specification or design attributes with overseas engineering and production teams
• Follow up and monitor all issues relating to sampling, costs, product testing, packaging, time and action calendars and purchase orders
• Create technical packs and bill of material (color approval, silhouette/construction approval, material breakdown and specifications) to ensure accuracy and completeness for all new awarded business
• Monitor and review all prototypes and final samples to ensure faithful execution to spec
• Communicate product and testing requirements and resolve project roadblocks
• Coordinate with factory partners to prepare for various capabilities, responsible sourcing and sustainability audits and corrective action plans

Requirements:

• 57 years experience in sourcing or product development role in a consumer goods environment, preferably in home décor, gift or housewares categories
• Familiarity with product costing and pricing structures in an import, wholesale and/or retail environment
• Ability to quickly develop extensive understanding of new product types, markets and manufacturing technologies
• Ability to drive projects forward in a collaborative environment, including working with crossfunctional teams and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Experience working directly with overseas manufacturers
• High level of technical aptitude, including previous experience using remote collaboration tools and ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Some travel to trade shows, customer meetings and manufacturing sites as career progresses
