In this role you will be working within a team environment to design and draft complex electronic PWB layouts and drawings.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Printed Wiring Board Layout Designer.

    In this role you will be working within a team environment to design and draft complex electronic PWB layouts and drawings.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design layout of complex mixed signal, mixed technology, high density PCB designs. Provide full documentation for fabrication and assembly and provide engineering product support for operations and obsolescence.
  • Support cross functional Collins and Raytheon teams to define synergies in processes and workmanship standards. Must have a strong knowledge of IPC standards and materials.
  • Help maintain and support eCAD Library.
  • Interface with Vendors and Suppliers to import and export data for fabrication of bare boards and installation of electronic and mechanical components.
  • Interface with functional teams to support the design of electronic products.
  • Work with Global Export Compliance team to classify data for domestic and international export.
  • Pave the future roadmap for Mentor Graphics EDM environment utilizing managed reuse blocks.
  • Schematic Capture.
  • Create and maintain electronic schematics using electronic design tools such as Cadence and Mentor Graphics.
  • Mentor EDM reuse elements
  • PCB Layout.
  • Layout for placement and circuitry routing of Printed Circuit Boards for optimal electrical, EMI, thermal and structural performance. Understanding of design rules constraint management and parasitic analysis. Typical designs are high density, mixed technology designs with analog, digital and low power circuitry.
  • Create drawings in support of the fabrication and assembly of the circuit card.
  • Utilize Valor post processing checks, DFx.
  • Assists in training, assigning, and checking work.

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:


  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
    or **an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
    or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Understanding of industry standards, such as IPC2221, 2222, IPC-D325, IPC6011, 6012,6013, ANSI Y14.5, J-STD000
  • Experience with board layout tools, such as Mentor EDM and Cadence
  • Understanding of Signal Integrity analysis tools
