JOB SUMMARY


Tasks include auditing client accounts; preparing account statements for clients; cashiering duties; reviewing various financial reports produced by the statewide computer system; taking appropriate actions to insure proper distribution and disbursement of support payments; preparing deposits; reconciling accounts; and maintaining accurate accounting records.

Knowledge of distribution rules and other financial regulations to provide information to others. Maintain federal tax information in accordance with IRS Publication 1075.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Review financial reports for appropriate actions to ensure that payments are processed within established timeframes.

Serve as county liaison to staff at the PA State Collection and Disbursement Unit (SCDU).

Prepare bank deposit and complete daily reconciliation of all funds received and deposited.

Process payments for child support in statewide software and reconcile posted payments each day.


Maintain knowledge of federal distribution hierarchy, Federal tax Refund Offset Program (FTROP), and the State Tax Refund Offset Program (STROP) and coordinate all issues related to FTROP, including administrative reviews.

Attend and successfully complete all training courses mandated by the DRS/BCSE. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the child support program and the operations of the Domestic Relations Section. Knowledge of and ability to properly utilize the PACSES statewide computer system.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a high school diploma or education equivalent.

Experience in an office working environment; general knowledge of accounting principles; and computer skills including experience using Windows, Word and Excel preferred.


REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/CLEARANCES
This position requires a pre-employment background check as required by policy to perform the duties.
