    POSITION SUMMARY:
    This position is responsible for assisting in the ongoing support and administration of the Departments information security program.

    The person in this position will participate in vulnerability scanning and recommendations for remediation, Security Information Event Management (SIEM) administration and analysis, incident response management, and administration of security control solutions such as reviewing firewall rules, authorized software lists, and other relevant security controls.

    The incumbent in this position will also assist in formulation and maintenance of information security policies in conjunction with the FDLE Information Security Manager.


    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Specific duties include:
    Security system designing, supporting, and performance monitoring;Planning, designing, supporting, and performance monitoring of network security systems;Conducting research and development in computer network and information system security technologies to support the planning and enhancement of the statewide distributed computer systems networks including hardware, software, and communications resources;Monitoring the status of supported networks to ensure it is properly managed, maintained, and secured;Assists in the ongoing support and administration of the Departments information security program;Participates in vulnerability scanning and recommendations for remediation, Security Information Event Management (SIEM) administration and analysis, incident response management, and administration of security control solutions such as reviewing firewall rules, authorized software lists, and other relevant security controls;Assists in formulation and maintenance of information security policies in conjunction with the FDLE Information Security Manager;Servers a technical subject matter expert person for the Incident Response Team; andServes as one of the technical leads for various technical security solutions

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    Knowledge of Network Security Principles;Documented working knowledge and experience in incident response, vulnerability threat assessment and mitigation;Documented working knowledge and experience in operating systems as they relate to computer security and auditing;Knowledge of networking protocols and network security methodologies;Documented working knowledge and experience of Information Security concepts and best practices;Documented working knowledge and experience in showing the ability to develop, test and evaluate security controls;Documented working knowledge and experience o f operating system and/or telecommunications concepts;Documented working knowledge and experience of networking, Windows servers, Windows workstations and/or Linux servers;Documented working knowledge and experience with SIEM systems; andDocumented working knowledge and experience of Incident Response plans and procedures

    BASE SALARY:
    $55,000.00

    Starting salary will be the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLEs pay policy.

    BACKGROUND:
    FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants.

    The elements of a background include:

    NOTES:
    Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position
