Job Purpose (Job Summary): The role of the Associate is to provide direct support to Portfolio Managers across various credit strategies along with broader support to the Portfolio Management, Originations and Capital Markets teams in their execution of Invesco's real estate credit strategies.


Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Monitor loanlevel performance and ongoing execution of propertylevel business plans across the portfolio by working closely with loan asset management team.
  • Forecast fundlevel performance/returns based on projected fund liquidity analysis, loan performance, repayment assumptions, and valuations of loans.
  • Oversee portfoliolevel loan composite and track record models in collaboration with fund operations and loan asset management teams.
  • Maintain, or create as necessary, portfolio level summary reports in order to manage or analyze portfolio performance, diversification, risk mitigation, etc.
  • Develop, maintain and analyze portfolio analytics for purposes of new loan originations, valuations, and financing strategies.
  • Manage credit allocation log and worksheet process on an ongoing basis.
  • On an ad hoc basis, underwrite new debt transactions entering (as pipeline necessitates) and work with team to manage loan origination process throughout the various stages of due diligence and syndication.
  • Assist with quarterly valuations of loans and underlying collateral with thirdparty valuation firms.
  • Facilitate reporting process for clients to ensure accurate and timely reporting by all responsible parties, including Monthly and Quarterly reports.
  • Assist with client requests and inquiries (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Prepare presentations related to fund strategy and portfolio performance for internal committees.
  • Assist with preparing and updating pitchbooks for clients in collaboration with fund operations and marketing teams.
  • Maintain working knowledge of client's goals, objectives, and investment guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Ad hoc support for clients, portfolio management, and Invesco.
  • Other duties as assigned, such as onepage loan summaries, etc.

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3 years of handson experience preferred in one or more of the following disciplines: Real Estate Credit/Lending, Real Estate Portfolio/Fund Management, Real Estate Acquisitions.
  • Good understanding of the investment fundamentals of Institutional Real Estate

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

  • Strong financial and analytical skills with an eye for details
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; solid business writing skills are critical
  • Ambitious and tireless self-starter; resourceful and independent
  • General understanding of accounting principles (balance sheet, income statement, variance analysis)
  • Proactive; act with a sense of urgency with internal and client requests
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a team-oriented environment; low ego team player
  • Must be confident and comfortable expressing an opinion that may be different from others within Invesco
  • Solid practical understanding of real estate investment concepts
  • appreciation of broader investment (stocks, bonds etc.) concepts a plus
  • Experience with real estate credit a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Argus

Formal Education:

  • Undergraduate degree from a toptier University
  • MBA or CFA not required but a plus


The total compensation offered for this position, which includes salary and incentive pay, will vary based on skills, experience and location.

The salary range for this position in California is $95,000 to $110,000 annually.
