- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and key stakeholders within the municipalities, utilities, and facility markets.
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive outreach via phone calls, emails, and networking events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and industry partners to understand their needs and pain points.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create targeted campaigns and promotional materials to drive awareness and interest in NEXGEN's solutions.
- Effectively communicate NEXGEN's value propositions and benefits to prospects, highlighting how our EAM/CMMS software can address their specific challenges and goals.
- Qualify leads and opportunities, ensuring alignment with our target market segments and criteria.
- Manage and update prospect information and interactions in the CRM system to track progress and facilitate follow-up activities.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to represent NEXGEN and expand our presence within the target markets.
- Assist with the development of sales presentations, proposals, and other collateral as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles is a plus but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients and prospects effectively.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Entry-Level Business Development Representative to join our team and support our growth initiatives within the municipalities, utilities, and facility markets. This role will involve prospecting, lead generation, and client engagement to drive revenue and expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, passionate about technology, and dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service.
The Business Development Representative is part of the Business Development team and will report to the VP of Business Development. This is full time position based out of our Sacramento, CA office.
