Position Summary:

Are you a highly skilled multitasker with a passion for patient care? We are seeking a Front Desk Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our busy podiatry practice supporting three providers.

In this role, you will be a vital part of our healthcare team, responsible for both clinical and administrative tasks.

Your ability to provide exceptional patient experiences and maintain the smooth operation of our office is crucial.

Key Responsibilities


Greeting Patients:

  • Welcome patients to our office in a professional and friendly manner, answer phone calls, and direct queries efficiently.
  • Ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all patients.

Coordinating Patient Flow:

  • Manage patient appointments and coordinate the flow of patients in the office, book, confirm, and reschedule as necessary.
  • Ensure efficient patient checkin and checkout processes, to create a seamless experience for every individual.

Administrative Duties:

  • Accurately enter patient insurance and demographic information.
  • Verify insurance details and process related documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with both doctors and patients using appropriate medical terminology.
  • Assist in taking a thorough detailed chief complaint, past medical history, and social history.
  • Handle financial transactions: collect copays, deductibles, and manage billing queries.

Clinical Support:

  • Scribe the objective and plan portion of encounter notes under the doctor's direction.
  • Assist physicians with minor inoffice procedures.
  • Educate patients on their conditions and treatment plans.

Office Maintenance:

  • Maintain inventory, supplies, equipment, and sterilization of instruments.
  • Ensure prompt and thorough cleaning and sterilization of examination rooms.
  • Provide support and coverage for other staff members when requested.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical terminology is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a medical assistant.
  • Friendly and compassionate disposition.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Dedication to maintaining the confidentiality of all patient records.
