We are currently seeking a motivated Financial Manager (m/f/d) for the Department II - Finance, Third-Party Funding and Procurement at Penryn.

This position is responsible for managing Quality Improvement Funds (QVM) within the Finance team.

The role is full-time and will be compensated according to the collective agreement TV-L E 9b, subject to meeting the necessary requirements.

The Finance team is responsible for all processes and issues related to accounting and controlling.

This includes tasks such as bookkeeping, tax management, financial statements, and managing revenues from the regular university budget and external funding.

The team also handles internal and external reporting, financial planning and control.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the allocations from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia outside of the university budget, particularly the Quality Improvement Funds
  • Creating expenditure plans (financial and action plans) as a basis for budgeting and updating the plans
  • Advising budget managers and reviewing and processing procurement and personnel measures in the context of Quality Improvement Funds
  • Ongoing controlling, budget comparisons, variance analysis and reporting, as well as preparatory work for the annual financial statements
  • Payment and liquidity management, ensuring payments, liquidity and compliance with the 4eyes principle (internal control system, ICS) in accordance with ยง 9 (2) HWFVO

Your profile:

  • Completed university degree in business administration or a comparable qualification, with a focus on controlling and management instruments
  • Relevant professional experience
