  • JOB DESCRIPTION:

Support and implement the District's Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) programs including academic and behavior Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavior Support Interventions & Support (PBIS) and social emotional learning (SEL) programs.

Serve as an instructional leader in evaluating, coordinating, monitoring, and developing the District's behavioral and academic interventions and supports.

  • DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the design and implementation of the District's policies and procedures that address student academic and social-emotional-behavior needs for overall success.


Increase awareness of the MTSS process (including RtI, PBIS, and SEL) through professional learning at the district and campus level.- Collaborate with district-level leaders on MTSS to provide cohesive support across the District.


  • Collaborate with campus leaders and staff on concerns or processes within MTSS.
  • Provide training on Branching Minds, intervention strategies and curriculumbased measurement.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Branching Minds platform.
  • Research and evaluate interventions for Tier II and Tier III implementation.
  • Assist in gathering, interpreting and utilizing data to help campus leaders improve student outcomes.


Provide recommendations for ways in which Teaching & Learning can be adapted to meet the learning needs of struggling students.- Communicate and collaborate with administrators, teachers and parents concerning positive behavior supports.


  • Assist in the development of effective instructional and behavior intervention strategies to ensure student success and goal mastery.
  • Recommend policies, regulations, and procedures as appropriate; prepares and maintains necessary reports and/or descriptive statistics of the assigned discipline area.
  • Identify short and longrange goals for assigned discipline area based on assessment of need, goals of the curriculum department, and the District mission statement and goals.
  • Work as a collaborative member of the Teaching & Learning Team.
  • Act as a liaison to building principals in interpreting procedures and guidelines concerning behavior as related to general education.
  • Consult positively and effectively with principals, teachers, assistant principals, team leaders, department chairs, and parents.
  • Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Monitor discipline data of all students and act on results.
  • Assist with T-TESS upon request.
  • Assist principals regarding personnel upon request.
  • Assist with interviewing prospective personnel.
  • Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local Board policy as pertains to the assigned discipline area.
  • Recommend space, equipment, instructional materials, and facilities necessary for the implementation of approved programs.
  • Supervise the organization, distribution, and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment as appropriate.
  • Ensure that teacher expectations are effective in furthering the teaching/learning process and environment.


Support the District and campus procedures that enhance a safe and collaborative culture.- Ensure teacher expectations and student management procedures are developmentally appropriate for the classroom environment.


  • Demonstrate steps taken for professional growth.
  • Observe professional and ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards.
  • Maintain memberships and active participation in professional organizations.
  • Communicate District curriculum, instructional and professional learning practices in the area MTSS (including RtI, SEL, and PBIS) as well as accomplishments, goals, and instructional initiatives to parents and others in the community.
  • Solicit community input on curriculum and instructional issues.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • EXPERIENCE:
  • Three years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Three years of experience as a District Student Support Services Instructional Coach
  • Experience creating and delivering professional learning presentations
  • Experience with RTI processes and Problem-Solving Teams
  • Experience with PBIS processes
  • Experience conducting functional behavioral assessments and writing behavior intervention plans for students
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:


  • Master's Degree
  • Valid Teaching Certificate
  • Valid Principal Certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:


  • Expertise in PBIS
  • Expertise in classroom management process (CHAMPS)
  • Expertise in school wide PBIS processes (Foundations)
  • Understanding of core principles of MTSS, RTI, and Problem-Solving Teams
  • Expertise in curriculu
