Base Salary:
$54,035.00
Performance Pay:
Available annually
New hire experience:
$500 for each full-time year of certified teaching or
Verified like experience
New hire education:
$65/hour of graduate level credits:
BA +45 hours max, MA +60 hours max $1000 for advanced degrees
Class/Calendar:
Certified Exempt, 187 workdays

OVERVIEW:
Instructional Design and Technology Specialists support the professional growth and learning of all teachers, in the area of digital literacy through planning, modeling, coaching, co-teaching, training, and data analysis.
Specialists work collaboratively with other specialists, coaches, teachers, administrators, and district personnel to plan and conduct professional learning based on assessed building and/or teacher needs.
Instructional Design and Technology Specialists also participate in and support large-scale, district initiatives such as teaming models, standards-based/competency-based instruction and grading, and Universal Design for Learning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Arizona teaching certificate with evidence of highly qualified status
- Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience
- Knowledge and understanding of effective technologyenabled teaching strategies
- Knowledge of national, state, and district standards and trends concerning instructional methods, resources, and strategies
- Knowledge of a variety of educational programs and apps and a commitment to continuous growth of professional knowledge, skills, and expertise about technologyenabled learning, emerging technologies, and technology related issues such as generative AI and data governance
- Ability to plan and present information/training for the adult learner
- Experience leading and participating in collaborative teams to plan, prepare and execute projects
- Effective communication, planning, organization, presentation, and leadership skills; ability to work with and motivate others through professional relationships
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently without constant supervision and under stressful timelines
- Ability and willingness to work outside the traditional teacher working hours and calendar, including evenings, weekends, and summers
- Ability to perform moderate physical tasks
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Instructional Design and Technology Specialist works in conjunction with district leadership and various departments to ensure specialist/administrator/teacher/student success.
The Instructional Design and Technology Specialist:
- Supports the development and implementation of school technology plans informed by the AZ EdTech standards and the MPS Foundational Technology Skills Framework in alignment with the district's PreK12 continuum, GradPlus and other district goals
- Identifies educational technology professional learning needs and competencies among staff in collaboration with school and department administrators, and delivers appropriate training, and resources to support increased digital literacy in staff and students
- Supports the implementation of site technology plans and the successful rollout of district initiatives such as (teaming models, PreK12 continuum, pathways, and GradPlus)
- Collaborates with content specialists and experts to support effective implementation of core and supplemental digital resources at the site level.
- Collaborates with educators to implement technology solutions aligned with standardsbased grading and mastery learning methodologies
- Designs training for new and continuing teachers in technologyenabled learning best practices (assessment, feedback, grading)..
- Facilitates the implementation of districtwide technology projects
- Designs facetoface and online learning opportunities for district supported programs and technology projects
- Stays informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on education
- Vets resources to ensure alignment with competencies, standards, and policies
- Supports a Data Governance culture
- Maintains a strong commitment to continuous improvement of professional knowledge, skills, and expertise about technologyenabled learning and other through ongoing professional learning
- Exhibits professional attitude, appearance, and demeanor
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the work unit
