Position Summary:
The Director of Operations at The Shipping Store will be directly responsible for overseeing effective operating procedures across all departments.
They will be in charge of all management and supervisory level roles under the operations umbrella and will communicate with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure operations are supporting the overall company vision and mission.
The Director of Operations will be responsible for implementing and sustaining procedures that drive positive growth that can be measured through performance metrics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives.
Plan, implement and monitor strategies to maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.
Oversee supply chain and logistics, ensuring departmental goals set by departmental and company leadership are met.
Establish and track KPIs to measure supply chain performance and drive data-driven decision-making.
Develop, Implement and monitor standards and procedures for all company operations and warehouse processes.
Keep track of the company's revenue margins and work directly with the Director of Finance to improve profitability; responsible for adherence to operational budgets
Oversee safety compliance for the office and warehouse teams; ensure work environments are adequate and safe.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Lead and foster a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business priorities.
Ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity
Excellent management and supervisory skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient to expert in Microsoft Office or Google equivalent programs (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
Intermediate to expert in any business management software
REQUIRED Experience and Education:
3+ Years experience as a Operations Manager or Supervisor in E-Commerce or Wholesale Distribution
3+ Years supply chain and/or logistics experience
3+ Years Experienced in Purchasing and Margin Maintenance
5+ Years experience in management
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills and Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Process, Organization, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Financial Management
3+ Years ERP/WMS Experience (NetSuite Preferred)
6+ years management or director level experience
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Regularly operates office equipment, such as laptops, printers, and calculators
Lifts objects up to 45 pounds occasionally
Stays stationary at their desk, often sitting for prolonged periods, often moves through the warehouse and office
Spends extended hours in front of a computer screen
Frequently required to communicate with others to exchange information
Air-conditioned office, productive atmosphere, and semi-open floor plan
