- Location - Preference for someone local. Willing to make a remote position for the right candidate
- Organize priorities while developing the tax advisory & client engagement strategies
- Execute the tax advisory and engagement strategies
- Meet with current and prospective financial planning clients to discuss how our integrated approach to tax and wealth management will benefit their overall financial picture
- Assist with obtaining and onboarding new business, including fee structure, document collection, and initial planning meetings
- Identify strategic tax planning and mitigation opportunities that are often overlooked
- Prepare required tax filings (primarily Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120S) in accordance with current tax law and procedures
- Oversee the build out of our newly established accounting services, help to build the team, and ensuring that deliverables are coordinated across the firm
- Partial CFO duties for Telos Holdings
- Lead, manage, & accountability - the Telos Accounting team

- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
- An active CPA license is required.
- A "plus-1" credentialing mindset (wants to pursue additional degrees / accreditations) is strongly preferred
- 3 or more years of public accounting experience with progression into reviewer-level roles (senior associate, manager, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail, process oriented, good communication skills, and follow-through to completion
- Ability to succeed in (or preference towards) a fast-paced, dynamic, & small business environment
- An entrepreneurial, forward-looking mindset, focused on developing current client relationships and adding new ones
- Comfort with juggling multiple software systems and managing competing priorities
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Salary - Range of $75,000 - $150,000 depending on interest and experience in new client acquisition
- Variable Compensation - Variable compensation, bonus, and sales revenue can be incorporated

Recently, we have expanded our service capabilities and established Telos Accounting (& Telos Insurance separately) to provide access to proactive tax-planning services, which are integrated within their overall plan. We are now searching for a licensed CPA to help build & lead this practice, while working to coordinate its services more broadly into the firm's overall purpose.
The preferred candidate for the Director of Tax position is a self-starting and analytical individual that has the ability to manage multiple projects at once. They must be confident, resilient, and willing to adapt to the diverse and ever-changing needs that come with a fast-growing & dynamic firm. Ones success in this role will be determined by their ability to embrace the Telos Core Values, work in a fast-paced and small-business environment, and to integrate into the workflows of the team.
This position can include an equity partnership track in the firm.
