ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Non-rotating 40 hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.
Responsibilities
Implement and maintain complex software modules or multiple complex departmental custom applications in accordance with established standards. Design, implement, and maintain all software interfaces.
Work with both end users and MIS staff to analyze and apply required "fixes and patches" supplied by the software vendor.
This requires structured programming and testing involving a high degree of technical complexity. Perform requirement analysis and recommend business process redesigns and/or software modifications or changes.Upon arrival, affect changes to the existing information system to either improve the system performance or the overall operation of system.
Prepare and maintain functional process charts and technical documentation to describe information processing capabilities, functions, and operation aspects involving existing or proposed systems.
Responsible for all computer hardware leases to include, but not limited to, determining hardware requirements, negotiating with vendors, designing hardware applications, and inspecting all computer hardware when it is delivered to ensure it meets specifications.
Prepare project plans for information projects for Capital Programs. As required, prepare oral and written reports to MIS management or users. Ensure that all requests comply with overall strategic plans or direction for information systems. Prepare and maintain technical documentation of software configuration details, customizations, database triggers and indexes, interfaces, and reports.
Communicate regularly with MIS personnel responsible for related business applications and supporting infrastructure to ensure broad awareness of system independencies as well as technical plans and activities that may affect enterprise application performance.
Qualifications
Position requires Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) (Computer Science or Business) with minimum of three (3) years of experience. A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered. Requires a working knowledge of various computer equipment and software.
Computer Equipment:
Server, word processor, printer, mouse, and related equipment. Copier, fax machine, and scanner.
Software:
Microsoft Office to include "Word", "Excel", "PowerPoint", "Access", and "Outlook" as well as Department specific software and databases to include "Envista", "Alfresco", "AutoCAD", "Arcview/ArcMAP", "PMP", and "adobe Acrobat Professional".
A valid driver's license is required.Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
