    Job Description

    In accordance with Clinical Learning department and Simulation Center, the Clinical Trainer will assist in planning and implementing clinical education for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta staff. The Clinical Trainer supports staff training and development programs including but not limited to onboarding classes, American Heart Association classes, workplace violence prevention and clinical skills training. They will also provide clear, concise, constructive feedback to participants. This role will also proactively support the efforts to ensure the delivery of safe patient care and services.

    This will be based at the Support Center but go to other locations. Would be estimated to work at least 1 10-hour day per month but open to more. Could lead to full or part-time opening in the future.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a healthcare setting (pediatric and adolescent patient populations preferred)
    Preferred Qualifications
    • 2 years teaching experience in staff development, patient/family education, or community education
    • Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum
    • Experience with application of adult learning principles
    • BLS Instructor Certification
    • PALS Instructor Certification
    Education
    • Bachelor of Science in Healthcare related field
    Certification Summary
    • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (applicable to BSN candidates) OR
    • Current licensure in the state of Georgia as either a Respiratory Care Professional, Paramedic, Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or other license or certification as applicable
    • BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Demonstrated presentation and group facilitation skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees to identify learning strengths and opportunities
    • Proven orientation as a team player with strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated flexibility and creativity
    • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and differing opinions. Must be able to organize, prioritize and work
    • independently without direct supervision
    • Achieves and maintains certifications as determined by department leadership
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Proficiency in working audio-visual equipment
    Job Responsibilities
    • Provides quality instruction, support, and guidance to employees in learning content, clinical skills, basic life support, and advanced life support.
    • Completes appropriate documentation in Learning Management System.
    • Sets-up classroom and completes wrap-up activities as determined by course lead.
    • Supports the system's educational needs by maintaining high standards of professionalism, dependability, and responsibility.
    • Provides feedback to participants and leadership team on effective use of skills, when applicable.
    • Assists course lead in the development of instructional materials that support and enhance the learning objective as needed.
    • Ensures effective delivery of clinical training programs to satisfy Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, JCAHO, American Heart Association, and other regulatory requirements.
    • Supports internal clinical training and development initiatives.
