    Description
    The Staff Accountant will support a growing Accounting and Operations team.

    This role will be responsible for accurately maintaining the organization's accounting records, along with the accounting records of a selection of our subsidiaries.

    The position requires initiative and resourcefulness in problem solving, analyzing trends and patterns to propose new procedures, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers.

    Staff are expected to exercise a high degree of autonomy while assuming significant responsibility and are strongly encouraged to make recommendations to strengthen their work and the organization.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare monthly accounting journal entries
    • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
    • Perform processes during monthly close cycle
    • Create, update, review, investigate, and distribute schedules and financial reports pertaining to various phases of accounting functions
    • Prepare, analyze, and verify accounting reports and other records to support responses to data requests
    • Ensures that all transactions are properly supported and are in accordance with GAAP, FERC, SOX, and other regulatory requirements
