Responsibilities of Position,
Police Account Clerks are data processing and data analyzing experts.

They provide valuable support to our police officers and civilian staff, so their work needs to be accurate, thorough, and on-time.

Since some of their tasks are time-sensitive, Police Account Clerks need to possess excellent time management skills and be available for occasional daytime weekend work.

Most work is completed using financial software programs to enter data, create reports, and resolve issues. Police Account Clerks are proficient in using spreadsheets to format, edit, and manipulate data.


Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, including coursework in accounting or a similar businessrelated field.
  • Accounting clerical experience with accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, financial record keeping, or similar tasks.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge and abilities will be considered.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience monitoring financial accounts.
  • Experience with complex payroll, timekeeping, budget, and financial software programs, such as Tyler-Munis, Oracle, QuickBooks, Precinct Manager (Right Stuff), ADP, etc.
  • Purchasing experience.
  • Experience coordinating travel arrangements.
Drug screening, criminal background check, and background investigation will be required. The anticipated starting salary as of July 1, 2024 is $26.22 per hour, plus an excellent fringe benefits package.
